My First Time Trying Salt Therapy
I've taken a slight break from posting the past couple of weeks because I have been going NONSTOP (as I've mentioned in recent blogs).
I was traveling every single weekend for the past six weeks, not really taking time to rest or take care of my body, eating shitty food and I eventually hit a wall. I came down with bronchitis (fast) and was out of commission for almost a week. I spent last weekend getting good rest, eating clean and trying salt therapy.
If you're wondering what salt therapy is, you're not alone. I had never heard of it either, until my coworker sent me a link as I was hacking up a storm at my desk. Behold, The Salt Pad. I searched the website and after reading the potential benefits, it sounded like exactly what I needed.
Salt Therapy (originally known as halotherapy) is a natural and drug-free method of relief for respiratory issues and skin conditions. Salt naturally reduces inflammation of the respiratory system and strengthens the immune system, which is perfect since my immune system is shot right now. A Halogenerator crushes dry salt into tiny particles and distributes it throughout their salt room while you recline in *super comfy* leather chairs. All you have to do is breathe.
After my session, I felt so relaxed. Probably because I fell asleep. I still have a cough so it's not a magic cure, but I talked to the owner for a while about how this can help and I think it will take multiple session to really reap the benefits. I'm definitely a believer in natural healing and would love to eventually get off of my allergy meds, cold meds, etc. I will be back for more salt.
P.S. They also have an awesome selection of soy candles and I bought the Blueberry Orange Blossom scent - it's amazing.
